CPSIA

In order to save money, increases profits or make more for the shareholder. Big business has used outsourcing to get cheap labor. Yeah their team but at what cost. I know of a company that decided to outsource some of their products to Mexico. Which after a year that did not work so well for them so they moved to Canada ,oops did not work again so now they are now trying China or some other country. The quality of their product is not great and is not going to get better. I remember when people were encouraged to buy "THE USA LABEL" now not so much.
As thing are outscored when they come back in they are not checked to see if they are dangerous. They are not tested for safety. This was not required by our government or the big businesses. So what we got back were unsafe.
Now we will have to pay for the problem. People that don't have the big business behind them or the money to compete will be come no more. We will be forced to close shop some before we even have a shot to start. People that make handmade items some one of a kind items some make a small quantity of the same item but not enough to pay for the new testing requirements. But the big business will either pay the fines or pay for the testing. No big deal for them in China they can make thousands or millions of a thing and not a big cost to test a batch. for a handmade business it will kill their business.
We will be losing a very precious commodity. Things made from the heart and soul of real people. Something special for one person. Something not mass produced for the all. I for one will miss them. If you look through the handmade item you will find things that are there to help the environment ex. cloth diapers, diaper liners, nursing pads, menstrual pads, leather shoes, recycled items remade, and thing that will not kill the environment as they break down will help the earth. Most of the thing I mentioned above are washable, reusable and biodegradable.
If the material is tested why is it needed to be retested. once a piece of it is cut and sewed together or knitted into a hat.
There is one more consideration some of these small businesses are going to come up with something amazing and nobody will ever know. They won't be able to afford to test the thing to get it started. What will we miss. I have seen some amazing thing out there. Now most of them will just disappear.

Why are we protecting the stupid???

OK i might be beating a dead horse but here goes.
I am sure you have heard of the cases where people sue for getting the hot coffee, chili, and other things they order, hot!!! Where you can sue because you are not smart enough to know cars, vans, trucks, and RVs do not drive themselves. You can get a license to drive any of them. we are letting or nation become more stupid and sue happy. Maybe to protect other drivers one of the questions should be,
When is it OK to let your vehicle drive it's self.
A. only when it has been there before after all it is smarter than me.
B. only when your hungry.
C. all of the time I have insurance just like everyone else.
D. Never what the heck are you thinking.
We have become so worried about being sued that there are warning labels on every thing. My blow dryer says not to use while you are sleeping. A baby blanket has to say do not leave baby unattended. Sleeping pills may make you drowsy(you think), and even a lottery ticket states they are not responsible if you lose your ticket. I am amazed at the wold we live in a world where the obvious must be put is writing. When I was making supper the other day I glanced at the box and the label actually said..... wait for it.
Remove form packaging before cooking.
Did someone just put the box and all in the oven? Boy that scares me to death.
Where have people's common sense gone? It reminds me of a blonde joke.
A blond goes to a beuty sallon she wore headphones and carried a tape player. When they started to cut her hair, they removed the headphones and she died. When they listed to the recording all they heard was breath in, breath out, again breath in, breath out. is this what we are heading for.
Ol I guess I am done for today. thanks and good luck.

Just one of the things that make me mad

I was working a job where I putting people on house arrest. I heard stories of how it was not their fault they were in jail or trouble. It was either the "cops, the boy/girlfriend, the job, the kids, and many other excuses. So when did we stop taking responsibility for our own actions.
ex #1
I asked one person after he told me that he was getting a bum deal. Were you drinking when you got pulled over? "Yes" he said"but I had a bad day at work and I needed to wind down before I go home so I don't take it out on my kid". "beside I only had a few no big deal". Ok so it is his job that made him get his DWI not his fault. And he is just drinking to protect his kids. I feel so ashamed of myself for thinking he was endangering many others with his actions. I should be thankful the did not go home and beat his kids.
ex #2
I had also put a woman on house arrest for drinking and driving. while there she told me that this was so unfair she needed to go to the store to get some things for the daycare she ran. (Yes I said daycare) she only had a couple of drinks and she did not know what happened but she hit a light pole totaling her car and when she woke up she was in the hospital and underarest. she also told me that even if the mechanic could not find anything wrong with her car she know that must be what had happened. because she had drank before and sometimes more that what she had this time and never been in an accident. but on a high note she had decided not to take her kids with her this time. Thanks heavens she did not. but again not her fault. must have been the car. As I was leaving her husband stopped me and said she left the house drunk and he had refused to let her take the kids. he had also taken the keys away and hide them like he had done many times before. But she had made a second copy and left when he was in the bathroom. I know alcoholism is a problem but that is not the only problem. there are many alcoholics that stay at home and drink.

Ex#3
I know a young person that told me they could not get a job because they did not have a car. When I asked how far they worked from home I was told about 8 blocks. Then the same young person told me they had to cancel the Dr. appointment for their child for the same reason. Again how far would they have to walk three blocks. Wow now I know I should have run out a bought them a new car or at the very least given them mine. but being the self-centered person I am I asked if there was something wrong with them that they couldn't walk to either. The only response I received was an odd look and "I can't walk that far".

Oh my goodness are we spoiling are children so they don't know how to do what has to be done. this is America where we are able with a little hard work and imagination make things happen. If this is a preview of what is coming around the been we are all in for a rude awaking. I have no solutions I really don't understand. dose anyone.
